Boxing: Prichard Colon to Face Vivian Harris in PBC on Spike Undercard
Those in attendance within the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto will be
treated to witnessing one of the hottest prospects in all of boxing
as undefeated powerhouse Prichard Colon will be in action. The
Puerto Rican will take on former world champion Vivian Harris in a
scheduled eight-round junior middleweight affair.
Colon burst onto the boxing world in 2013 after a tremendous amateur career that included five world championships. Though he’s feasted largely on modest competition thus far, Colon has looked superb in building a 15-0 record with 12 knockouts. Harris will be by far the most experienced opponent he’ll have faced to this point, and Vivian’s style should give Colon some issues.
Harris (32-10-2, 19 KOs) was once regarded as one of the most
promising young fighters in the sport and it was no surprise when
he captured the WBA junior welterweight title by scorching
Diosbelys Hurtado in the second. But when he lost it to Carlos
Maussa almost three years later, he was never quite the same. At
one point, he lost six of seven fights and though he won three
consecutive bouts after that skid, he is coming off a seventh round
knockout loss to Ramon Alvarez last November.
The rest of the undercard will feature welterweight contender Jo Jo Dan (34-3, 18 KOs) against Jake Giuriceo (17-4-1, 4 KOs); heavyweight Dillon Carman (8-2, 7 KOs) taking on former heavyweight title contender Donovan "Razor" Ruddock (40-5-1, 30 KOs); Tyson Cave (27-3, 10 KOs) versus Nestor Hugo Paniagua (26-8-2, 17 KOs) in a 10-round super bantamweight bout; Canadian Olympian Custio Clayton (4-0, 3 KOs) facing Davide Doria (12-0-1, 4 KOs) in a six-round super welterweight bout; Sandy Tsagouris taking on Shannon O'Connell (11-3, 6 KOs) in a six-round featherweight attraction. Undefeated prospects Immanuwel Aleem (13-0, 9 KOs) and Jamontay Clark (6-0, 3 KOs) will also be in action.
The main event of Premier Boxing Champions’ next PBC on Spike card features light heavyweight world champion Adonis Stevenson (26-1, 21 KOs) locking horns with Tommy Karpency (25-4-1, 14 KOs). The co-feature will be 2012 U.S. Olympian Errol Spence Jr. (17-0, 14 KOs) battling Chris van Heerden (23-1-1, 12 KOs).
The action will be aired live on Spike TV starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
