Every Wednesday, Administrative Editor Jordan Breen welcomes a member of the mixed martial arts media into “Press Row” on the Sherdog.com blog. This week, Breen is joined by ESPN.com's Brett Okamoto.

Following the Nevada State Athletic Commission's controversial decision on Monday to suspend Nick Diaz for five years and fine him $165,000 for his third positive marijuana test in the state, Breen and Okamoto dive into the myriad missteps made by the commission and how exactly they wound up turning a notoriously polarizing anti-hero like Nick Diaz into a now-widely sympathetic MMA figure.

Breen and Okamoto analyze the NSAC's bizarre decision to not attack Diaz for lying on his pre-UFC 183 questionnaire, while failing to adequately address the suspect nature of Diaz's one “positive” test of his three on fight night. The pair also look at Diaz's potential for a civil suit, whether or not it's financially feasible, if we'll see Nick Diaz back in a cage and what the incident really reveals about the mercurial, misunderstood Diaz as a person.
