Greg Jackson: In Game of Inches, Get There First
Sherdog.com Staff Oct 28, 2010
Greg Jackson (pictured right), on Monday’s
“Beatdown”, replying to the observation that Carlos
Condit caught Dan Hardy with
a punch just before Hardy caught him:
“The thing is … when we were fighting Hardy, who again is just an amazing fighter, he’s a little wide on the inside. We really worked -- Mike Winkeljohn especially; Winkeljohn is just a genius with striking -- we worked just staying tighter on the inside and we’ll always get there first. That was part of our game plan, staying tighter on the inside, and it worked out that way, especially because [Condit] came off that dip, that angle off of that right shoulder and was able to dip back in and put a lot more power into it. … Fighting is a game of inches. You want to put yourself in a position where you get there first.”
