John Dodson's TUF 14 Sherblog

John Dodson had to punch himself out of a smoky situation this week. | Photo: Dave Mandel

We saw how the house is getting divided. It is now broken up into three major groups: “The Death Leprechauns” (me, Louis Gaudinot, Josh Ferguson, Diego Brandao, Hamid Corassani and Marcus Brimage), “Bible Study” (Dustin Pague, Johnny Bedford, and Dennis Bermudez) and “The Casino.” (Dustin Neace, T.J. Dillashaw, John Albert, Bryan Caraway and Stephen Bass)

Akira was really fed up with some of the guys in the house, mostly the guys in The Casino. Caraway was the one that he wanted to target out of the group; I don't know why he didn't like him, but it was hard for Akira to be in the same room with him. He came up with this prank that he wanted to execute to shave Caraway's head, so this was the night he finally did.

Akira ran over to him with a clipper and cut a batch of hair from him, and Caraway chased him upstairs. He tried to kick in the first door, but it didn't open, so he kicked in the second one to tell Akira off. I guess The Casino felt so unsafe that they barricaded their room.

Speaking of pranks, Tiki had the right idea about not letting us train for fights coming up next. He wanted to make sure that we would lose focus because of his jokes. This time, his plan was to have Bisping distract us and keep us in our room. Well-played, because he did a great job at it. All of a sudden, Coach Kush opened the door and a cloud of white smoked filled the room. I was trying to punch my way through the walls, but it was no use since I couldn't see in front of my face.

I followed the wall until I reached the door and was able to make a run for it. I couldn't breathe the whole time I was in there, though. At the time, I didn’t find the mariachi band funny because I didn’t really get to hear them since I was so focused on making it out. But watching it now? It was a good plan and a good job by Tiki. This show was just prank after prank.

Marcus got the bright idea of pranking Bisping. He jumped on Bisping's back and rubbed his sweaty jock strap all in Bisping’s face, and I think he even got it in his mouth. The thing y'all didn't get to see is that Marcus went upstairs to hide from Bisping and actually jumped down from the balcony that they used to film him and then climbed back up it, just to get away from Bisping. He was the black Spider-Man making his getaway.

Later that night, Bisping would get Marcus back with a prank of his own. Like I said, Marcus is the black Spider-Man and his “Spidey sense” started to kick in. He knew he was in danger, but since he wasn't fast enough to react, he had to strip and jump into the pool. Sometimes, that’s your last resort to get out of harm’s way.

The world found out how dumb Dennis really is this week. This is what we had to deal with the whole time we were in the house with this dude. Some of the things that he said didn't make sense to all of us in the house -- or any of us, really. As you all saw, he isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. That's when Akira got the bright idea to do the “Quote of the Day.” It started out as him just making fun of Dennis, but, eventually he started drawing the other members of Bible Study.

Fight day comes around, and the first round was just one-sided for the first three minutes. Akira was just pounding on Dennis standing, and Dennis was having a tough time trying to take Akira down. Akira dropped Dennis and he fell into a single-leg takedown, which he managed to finish, then he got a guillotine. He held the choke until Akira passed out, just to make sure if Akira was not going to try a fake tap again. Can’t say I blame him; that’s smart.

Dennis might not be the smartest, but he is the first one to make it to the finale. That's one down and three to go. Who else will make it to the big show in the next few weeks?
