Martin Kampmann: Alexander Gustafsson Could Give Jon Jones a Run for His Money

Martin Kampmann, on “Beatdown,” discussing the announcement that Chael Sonnen will get a shot at UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and also mentioning who else should get an opportunity:

“[Sonnen] is good at talking s--t. He’s good at hyping the fight. He can sell a fight like no one else can. That makes money and that gets you in the spot, so hat’s off to him. Good job promoting yourself. I’m not hating, but if I was in the 205 division, I’d probably be a little bit disappointed. Like my fellow Scandinavian Alexander Gustafsson -- he’s a guy I would love to see fight against Jones. Instead they’re making Jones fight 185ers like Vitor [Belfort], [Dan] Henderson and Chael Sonnen. Give him a good, tough opponent like Gustafsson. He’s a badass, and I think he could give him a run for his money.”
