Podcast: Lorenz Larkin, Ramsey Nijem

“Beatdown” returned to the Sherdog Radio Network on Monday as TJ De Santis and Jeff Sherwood broke down everything in the world of mixed martial arts. They also chatted with UFC fighters Lorenz Larkin and Ramsey Nijem.

Larkin returns to the UFC’s Octagon on Jan. 15’s UFC Fight Night 35 card in Duluth, Ga. “The Monsoon” joined TJ and Jeff to talk about his upcoming middleweight tilt with Brad Tavares. The Millennia MMA product chatted about his UFC career, preparation for Tavares, and if his controversial decision loss to Francis Carmont still haunts him.

Also part of the Fight Night 35 card is welterweight Nijem. The Pit Elevated fighter joined “Beatdown” to discuss his match with Justin Edwards. At with a .500 record in his UFC career, Nijem has lost his last two fights by stoppage. “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 13 finalist talks about how he plans to get back in the win column, what he needs to do to defeat Edwards, and how he is handling the pressure of possible release if he fails to get the victory in Georgia.

De Santis and Sherwood take listener calls, emails, tweets and 2014 predictions. They also look back at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 34 card from Singapore, Tarec Saffiedine’s UFC future, and the reaction to the UFC’s new service “Fight Pass.”
