Quick Quote: ‘Bigfoot’ Thankful Fedor Not Retiring
Marcelo Alonso Mar 29, 2011
Former EliteXC
heavyweight champion Antonio
Silva on Fedor
Emelianenko’s decision to move forward with his MMA career
despite back-to-back losses:
“Thank God. It’s such a waste for a fighter like Fedor to be retired by 34. Anderson Silva lost. GSP lost. [Antonio Rodrigo] ‘Minotauro’ [Nogueira] … all of them lost and they didn’t stop fighting because it’s part of the game. I’m sure Fedor will shine again soon. I just hope that it’s not with me.”
Silva stopped Emelianenko on a second-round technical knockout in the first round of the 2011 Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix in February.
