“I’m here to f--king win, man. I don’t care if it’s my friend standing across from me. There’s two times I’ve been visibly upset after I’ve lost and one of them was Urijah, and it wasn’t for a title. The other time was Dominick Cruz. … I was pissed off I lost, that I made that mistake. My family knows that. It hurts even more to lose to a buddy. Because you know what? Now I’m still friends with him. I’m not mad at him for it. He went out there to win. I went out there for the same thing, but that’s that fighter mentality, that wrestling mentality. I don’t give a s--t who you are. You beat me and I’m not going to be happy with it. That first knee he threw and hit me in the chest, I was like, ‘Oh, you’re going to try to kill me. I better do the same.’”
