ShoBox Quadrupleheader Set for Aug. 19
Showtime revealed this week that lightweight prospect Mason Menard
will square off against Bahodir Mamadjonov in what will be the
fourth bout to be televised on the next edition of ShoBox: The New
Generation. The event goes down in the outdoor soccer venue Rhinos
Stadium in Rochester, N.Y. and will be aired on the cable giant
live at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
Menard is coming off a sensational knockout when he last fought on ShoBox back in April against Eudy Bernardo and is ready to take that proverbial next step in his career.
“These are the fights I need to get to the top,” Menard (31-1, 23
KOs) said. “My opponent is no pushover. He has been in
with some quality guys and I have to be able to beat guys like him
to get to the top ones. I'm looking forward to getting the
job done on Aug. 19.”
“I’m excited I’m fighting on ShoBox again. It's a great opportunity” Mamadjonov (19-2, 11 KOs) added. “Menard is no joke. He’s a credible opponent. I’m not going to rush on this fight. I’m not going to lie, I’m always looking for the knockout, but if it goes the distance I’d be ready.”
Heavyweight prospect Jarrell Miller (17-0-1, 15 KOs) will headline the ShoBox card against Cameroon’s Fred Kassi (18-5-1, 10 KOs). Opening the telecast will be bantamweight Antonio Nieves (16-0-1, 8 KOs) taking on Alejandro Santiago (11-2-1, 3 KOs). Welterweight bomber Bakhtiyar Eyubov (10-0, 10 KOs) will take on veteran Karim Mayfield (19-3-1, 11 KOs) over 10 rounds as well.
