ShoBox Tripleheader Weigh-in Results: All Fighters Cleared to Scrap
ShoBox: The New Generation returns to the Turning Stone Resort and
Casino on Friday with another intriguing tripleheader of fistic
action. Showtime will televise the event live starting at 10 p.m.
ET/7 p.m. PT and the card was given the green light thanks to all
six of the featured combatants making weight.
In the main event, bantamweight prospects Nikolay Potapov and Stephon Young will square off in a 10-rounder. Both looked ready to fight at Thursday’s weigh-in, with both men easily making the 118-pound limit. St. Louis’ Young (14-0-2, 6 KOs) came in at 116.5 pounds while Potapov (14-0, 6 KOs), who hails from Russia, clocked in at 117.
In the eight-round co-feature, lightweights Eudy Bernardo (21-0, 15 KOs) and Mason Menard (30-1, 22 KOs) were equally on point as the featured combatants. Bernardo tipped the scale at 135.5 pounds while Menard weighed five ounces lighter.
Alexey Zubov (10-0, 6 KOs) will open the telecast against Constantin Bejenaru (10-0, 4 KOs) in an eight-rounder at cruiserweight. Both men clocked in at 198 pounds.
