ShoBox Weigh-in Results: Miller, Kassi Make Weight
Boxing returns to Showtime Friday night as ShoBox: The New
Generation will once again showcase up-and-coming prospects.
Heavyweight prospect Jarrell Miller (17-0-1, 15 KOs) will headline
the ShoBox card against Cameroon’s Fred Kassi (18-5-1, 10 KOs) in
the main event and at Thursday’s weigh-ins, everybody on the main
bill made weight.
Opening the telecast will see bantamweight Antonio Nieves (16-0-1, 8 KOs) taking on Alejandro Santiago (11-2-1, 3 KOs) while welterweight bomber Bakhtiyar Eyubov (10-0, 10 KOs) will oppose veteran Karim Mayfield (19-3-1, 11 KOs) over 10 rounds as well. Finally, lightweight prospect Mason Menard will square off against Bahodir Mamadjonov in outdoor soccer venue Rhinos Stadium in Rochester, N.Y. and will be aired on the cable giant live at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
Kassi stepped to the scale and crushed it, coming in officially at 237.25 pounds. Miller, meanwhile, looked monstrous in his final day of prep for the biggest test of his career and checked in at a whopping 296.5 pounds, making their tussle official.
