Straus Claims ‘Mental Edge’ Over Sandro at Bellator 68
Daniel
Straus will lock horns with Marlon
Sandro in the
Bellator Fighting Championships Season 6 featherweight
tournament final at
Bellator 68 on Friday in Atlantic City, N.J. The Ohioan
believes he has a mental edge over Sandro, who already lost to
reigning 145-pound champion Pat Curran.
The Straus-Sandro winner will earn a shot at the featherweight
titleholder:
“To be honest, I’m not even thinking about the title shot right now. I don’t even know if that day will come. Every day is a gift out here. All I know is that I have to beat Marlon Sandro next, and that’s all I’m thinking about right now. Marlon is looking to get to Pat Curran so bad right now. I know he’s really focused on fighting Pat because he has that head kick knockout over him, but I’m not even thinking about Pat right now. The only thing I’m thinking about is beating Marlon Sandro and winning this tournament. Then I’ll think about beating Pat. That’s why I feel like I have the mental edge over Marlon in this fight.”
