By The Numbers: Germaine de Randamie

Germaine de Randamie has lost only once -- to current women’s bantamweight titleholder -- in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She bounced back, racked up three consecutive victories and captured the inaugural women’s featherweight crown.

After getting stripped of the title due to inactivity, de Randamie has returned to 135 pounds. In her path stands Raquel Pennington, as the two collide at UFC Fight Night 139 on Saturday in Denver. As de Randamie prepares for her latest challenge, here are some of the numbers that have come to define her:

0: Losses in sanctioned kickboxing fights. De Randamie compiled 37 victories, 14 of which came by knockout, and captured multiple world and regional championships.

135: Pounds was the first weight class in which she competed. In her professional MMA debut, de Randamie faced future Invicta Fighting Championships title challenger Vanessa Porto, who submitted her via armbar in the first round.

2: Straight victories after losing in her debut fight. De Randamie decisioned Nikohl Johnson at Playboy Fight Night 5 and knocked out Stephanie Webber in her Strikeforce debut.

2: Fights with Julia Budd. De Randamie first faced the future Bellator MMA featherweight titleholder in a kickboxing bout, winning by TKO in the first round. Budd later exacted revenge at a Strikeforce Challengers event.

3: Appearances under the Strikeforce banner, with a record of 2-1. After the fight with Webber, de Randamie moved up to featherweight. She lost to Budd and defeated Hiroko Yamanaka, both by decision.

50: Significant strikes landed against Julie Kedzie, according to FightMetric. Kedzie landed just 28 in return. Entering her Octagon debut, de Randamie was a picture of confidence against Kedzie, who managed to record two takedowns against her. De Randamie won a split decision.

2: Wins inside the first round. Weber and Anna Elmose were the victims. The win over Elmose brought with it her only “Performance of the Night” bonus thus far.

80: Significant strikes landed Holly Holm in their back-and-forth battle. Holm landed 77 in return. De Randamie was awarded a unanimous decision, along with the inaugural UFC women’s featherweight championship.

86: Percent of takedowns defended. De Randamie likes to keep the fight standing and has done a stellar job of preventing takedowns.

3: Wins by knockout. Opponents who have tasted her strong kickboxing background include Webber, Elmose and Larissa Pacheco.

3: Losses on her MMA resume. De Randamie suffered defeats to Porto, Budd and Nunes.

34: Years of age. De Randamie was born in Utrecht, Netherlands, on April 24, 1984. She is of Dutch and Surinamese descent.
