By The Numbers: Kwon Won Il vs. Fabricio Andrade

The next No. 1 contender in the One Championship bantamweight division will be decided, as South Korean knockout artist Kwon Won Il takes on Fabricio Andrade in the One 158 co-headliner on Friday at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.

Il enters the cage on the heels of three straight victories. He last appeared at One “Winter Warriors 2,” where he brought down Kevin Belingon with a punch to the body in the second round of their Dec. 3 encounter. Andrade, meanwhile, finds himself on a six-fight winning streak. He last competed on Feb. 25, when he dispatched Jeremy Pacatiw with a knee to the body in the first round of their clash at One “Full Circle.”

As Il and Andrade move ever closer to their confrontation at 145 pounds, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

26: Years of age for Il, who was born in Daejeon, South Korea, on June 24, 1995.

8: Il wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 80% of his career total (10). His list of One Championship victims: Belingon, Rui Chen, Bruno Pucci, Sunoto Peringkat, Eric Kelly and Anthony Egelen. Il holds one other win by submission—he put away Sung Hyun Kim with a rear-naked choke at Top Fighting Championship 8 in 2015—and one more by decision.

19: Seconds needed for Il to cut down Kelly with punches at One “Roots of Honor” on April 12, 2019. Having occurred more than three years ago, it remains his fastest finish to date. Il features one other sub-minute finish on his resume: He punched out Hirotaka Miyakawa in his pro debut at a Deep event in April 2014, drawing the curtain in just 36 seconds.

6: Calendar years in which Il has fought at least once. He went 1-0 in 2014, 1-0 in 2015, 2-0 in 2018, 3-2 in 2019, 1-1 in 2020 and 2-0 in 2021.
