By The Numbers: Rafael Fiziev vs. Mateusz Gamrot
Two under-the-radar contenders will get another chance to separate themselves in the Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight pecking order when Rafael Fiziev meets Mateusz Gamrot in the UFC Fight Night 228 main event on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The winner moves another step closer to an elusive title shot at 155 pounds.
Fiziev has rattled of six wins in seven outings. The Kill Cliff Fight Club rep last competed at UFC 286, where he wound up on the wrong side of a majority decision against former World Series of Fighting champion Justin Gaethje on March 18. Gamrot, meanwhile, enters the Octagon with victories in five of his past six assignments. The American Top Team export last fought on March 4, when he eked out a split decision over Jalin Turner at UFC 285.
