The North Carolina native earned his fifth consecutive triumph in the UFC Fight Night 191 headliner, submitting Darren Till with a rear-naked choke 2:13 into the third round of their middleweight encounter at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night. It matches the longest win streak of Brunson’s promotional tenure — he also won five straight from August 2014 to September 2016 — and it puts him in striking distance of his first title shot in the Octagon.

Here is a by-the-numbers look at UFC Fight Night 191, with statistics courtesy of UFCStats.com.

5: Consecutive victories for Brunson, tying him with multiple others for the fifth-longest winning streak in the history of UFC’s middleweight division. In addition to Till, Brunson has bested Kevin Holland, Edmen Shahbazyan, Ian Heinisch and Elias Theodorou during his current run.

14: Career victories at 185 pounds for Brunson in UFC competition. That ranks No. 2 in division history behind only Michael Bisping (16).

3: Takedowns landed in six attempts by Brunson. That’s the most by a Till opponent in 11 UFC appearances. Brunson also logged 7:23 of control time in a fight that lasted 12:13.

101: Total strikes landed by Brunson. By comparison, Till landed 28. Brunson also held a 41-to-26 advantage in significant strikes landed.

4: Consecutive victories for Tom Aspinall, the fourth-longest active winning streak in the UFC’s heavyweight division behind Ciryl Gane, Francis Ngannou and Marcin Tybura. Aspinall ended Sergey Spivak’s three-bout winning streak with a first-round TKO victory in Saturday’s co-main event. Aspinall’s four consecutive finishes are also tied for the second-longest such streak behind Francis Ngannou (five).

16: Significant strikes landed by Aspinall in 2:30 of Octagon time. Spivak failed to land a significant strike in defeat.

9: Knockdowns landed in 11 UFC bouts for Khalil Rountree, who defeated Modestas Bukauskas by TKO 2:30 into Round 2 of their light heavyweight encounter. Rountree earned his first knockdown in three fights when he dropped his foe with a kick to the knee to force the stoppage.

249: Combined significant strikes landed by Molly McCann (127) and Ji Yeon Kim (122) in their preliminary flyweight clash. That’s the second most combined significant strikes landed by two fighters in the history of the UFC women’s flyweight division. Roxanne Modafferi and Nicco Montano combined for 318 significant strikes to set the all-time record at “The Ultimate Fighter 26” finale.

.460: Significant striking accuracy for McCann, who landed 127 of her 272 attempts. Kim was far less accurate, landing 122 of 362 attempts — a 33 percent clip.

73: Significant strikes by which Jack Shore outlanded Liudvik Sholinian in a preliminary bantamweight bout. Shore outlanded his foe 16 to 2 in Round 1, 33 to 7 in Round 2 and 43 to 10 in Round 3 en route to a unanimous decision triumph.

15: Consecutive professional victories for Shore to begin his professional tenure, including four triumphs in UFC competition. The former Cage Warriors Fighting Championship ruler went the distance in victory against Sholinian for just the fourth time in his career.

103: Significant strikes landed by Julian Erosa in a third-round submission triumph over Charles Jourdain at featherweight. That’s tied for a UFC career best in nine Octagon appearances for “Juicy J.” Erosa also landed 103 significant strikes in a submission win over Sean Woodson at UFC on ESPN 12.

23: Finishes among 26 career triumphs for Erosa, who secured his 12th submission win on Saturday.

65: Significant strikes landed by Marc-Andre Barriault in the third round of a three-round verdict against Dalcha Lungiambula in a preliminary middleweight tilt. Barriault gradually increased his output over three rounds going from 15 to 38 to 65 significant strikes landed in each frame.
