Lightweight champion B.J. Penn spoke
with assembled media Wednesday in Memphis, site of his UFC
107 championship showdown with top challenger Diego
Sanchez on Saturday night.
The dominant 155-pound fighter aired his thoughts about Sanchez’s eccentric personality, saying the former TUF winner may portray himself as “crazy,” but to him he is just “weird.”
Penn, who soundly defeated Kenny Florian in his last title defense and will look to run his unbeaten streak at 155-pounds to seven straight, also discussed his strategy for the bout.
The champion went on to state his desire to move back up to welterweight should another fight with Georges St. Pierre become possible.
