CM Punk Vs Mike “The Truth” Jackson
Warming up the crowd for 225 will be the bout between CM Punk & Mike “The Truth” Jackson. Though his UFC debut didn’t inspire confidence, CM Punk has had plenty of time to prepare with his Roufusport camp, who say his skills have developed nicely. Despite being long in the tooth, there’s every chance he could make a win difficult for The Truth, who has limited experience in an MMA setting. We’re a sucker for an underdog and so is Aussie UFC veteran Richie Vas, who’s tagged CM Punk to win this round, no doubt after some scrappy exchanges.
Andrei "The Pit Bull" Arlovski Vs Tai "Bam Bam" Tuivasa
Next up on the card will be Andrei "The Pit Bull" Arlovski vs Tai "Bam Bam" Tuivasa. Bam Bam will be flying his Australian flag when he squares off against the former UFC Heavyweight champ. Arlovski has the experience and the toughness needed to see this one through, and will no doubt have plenty of spirit to push his two fight win streak up to three. That said, Tuivasa won’t be an easy opponent, walking into the octagon for 225 on a seven win streak...all first round knockouts. It’s for that reason that Vas tags him as the potential winner looking to make a statement by stopping one of the great names in the game.
Alistair "The Demolition Man" Overeem Vs Curtis "Razor" Blaydes
The stadium will be moving on its foundations for the next fight, when heavyweights Alistair "The Demolition Man" Overeem and Curtis "Razor" Blaydes clash. Two fighters at different spectrums of their career - one looking to remain relevant in the weight class, the other looking to start their own legacy. The great Overeem has held titles in every major fight organisation bar the UFC, making him one tough dude with a respectable 49% knockout rate. That said, Blaydes is more than a decade younger than Overeem, and has proven he’s comfortable no matter where he is or what he’s doing in the ‘gong. Vas tags the young gun as the likely winner for this round, given he won’t hand over a knockout to Overeem.
Rafael Dos Anjos Vs Colby "Chaos" Covington
There’s a lot on the line for the next bout, Rafael Dos Anjos vs Colby "Chaos" Covington. Both dudes will be hashing it out with the interim welterweight title hanging above their heads. Both fighters look tough, in good shape and will be walking into the cage with some well-earned confidence. For that reason, this fight is sure to be a spectacle, with plenty of exchanges. Vas has tagged Chaos as the winner for this, overwhelming Dos Anjos with his groundwork keeping him busy and taking things to a decision.
Robert "The Reaper" Whittaker Vs Yoel "Soldier of God" Romero
The final fight of the night will surely not disappoint. If their first clash didn’t satisfy you, you’re in luck as Robert "The Reaper" Whittaker squares off against Yoel "Soldier of God" Romero for the second time after their five-round war. Whittaker’s growth as a fighter is impossible to ignore, with the Aussie boasting an impressive 47% TKO/KO rate. Romero reputation speaks for itself - a known warrior and an absolute physical beast whose ground game is the stuff of nightmares. All things considered, if Whittaker was able to beat him one on leg last time, Romero won’t make to round five this time around.
