UFC Dublin: By the Numbers
After losing both the main and co-main event in a matter of weeks, UFC Fight Night Dublin received its fair share of criticism in the final days leading up to the card. While Saturday’s event might have lacked star power, it was not bereft of quality action.

43: Significant strikes by which Smolka outlanded Holohan in their flyweight tussle. The Hawaiian took over in the second stanza, as he held a 40-to-5 edge in significant strikes before tapping Holohan with a rear-naked choke at the 4:09 mark.

931: Days since Reza Madadi’s last Octagon appearance, a third-round submission of Michael Johnson at UFC on Fuel TV 9 in April 2013. Madadi, who lost a unanimous decision to Norman Parke, was released from the UFC later that year after he was convicted of grand larceny for his alleged role in the robbery of a designer handbag store.
.875: Percentage of Parke’s UFC appearances that have gone the distance. Parke is 5-2-1 in the promotion, with all but one of those bouts going to the judges’ scorecards. Prior to his UFC debut, all but one of Parke’s 18 professional outings ended in a finish.
15: UFC bouts which have ended in a draw of any kind in the modern era after Darren Till and Nicolas Dalby battled to a tie in the Octagon on Saturday, according to MMADecisions.com. Prior to Till-Dalby, the most recent occurrence came when Mizuto Hirota and Teruto Ishihara dueled to a split draw at UFC Fight Night in Japan on Sept. 27.
52: Significant strikes by which Dalby outlanded Till in round three, propelling him to a pair of 10-8 scorecards from the cageside judges in the final frame. In the first two stanzas, Till held a 40-to-23 advantage in significant strikes.
9: Combined submission attempts by Neil Seery in his last three UFC appearances. The Dublin native attempted two submissions against Jon delos Reyes on Saturday, including a guillotine choke that forced his adversary to tap at the 4:12 mark of round two. Seery went is 2-1 in those contests, with previous bouts against Smolka (loss) and Chris Beal (win) both going the distance.
109: Total strikes by which Aisling Daly outlanded Ericka Almeida in their strawweight encounter. Daly outlanded her foe 53 to 35 in round one, 42 to 6 in round two and 71 to 16 in round three en route to a unanimous decision triumph.
6: Media scorecards, of the 13 tracked by MMADecisions.com, that awarded the middleweight clash between Krzysztof Jotko and Scott Askham to Askham. Five media scorecards favored Jotko, while two others scored it a draw. Jotko got the official nod, however, winning via split decision.
9: Finishes, in nine professional outings, for English prospect Tom Breese, who stopped Cathal Pendred via first-round technical knockout at welterweight. Six of the Tristar Gym product’s triumphs -- including both in the UFC -- have come inside of a round.
8: UFC featherweight triumphs for Darren Elkins, who outpointed Robert Whiteford in Dublin on Saturday. That ties him with Chad Mendes and Dustin Poirier for second-most 145-pound victories in promotion history; Max Holloway is first with nine.
7: Takedowns landed, in 11 attempts, by Elkins. “The Damage” landed at least two takedowns in each frame and also racked up a 112-to-41 advantage in total strikes landed. The seven takedowns landed represents a career-high in UFC competition for Elkins, whose previous best of six came against Steven Siler at UFC 154.
163: Total strikes landed by Garreth McLellanin his third-round technical knockout victory over Bubba Bush in their middleweight bout. After losing the first round, “Soldier Boy” held a whopping 160-to-13 advantage in total strikes over the final 10 minutes. McLellan also outlanded Bush 97 to 8 in significant strikes.
