Hernandez is coming off of a TKO loss to Donald Cerrone at UFC on ESPN+ 1. Before that, the 26-year-old was riding an eight-fight winning streak, including his first two in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where he knocked out Beneil Dariush in 42 seconds and then beat Olivier Aubin-Mercier by unanimous decision.
Trinaldo, meanwhile, is coming off of a TKO win over Evan Dunham back in September. The Brazilian was slated to fight at UFC 237 against Carlos Diego Ferreira, but the fight was cancelled after Ferreira had to withdraw.
Hernandez and Trinaldo were originally supposed to fight at UFC 233; however, after the card was canceled, they were booked in separate fights.
UFC on ESPN 4 goes down at the AT&T Center in San Antonio on July 20. It is scheduled to be headlined by welterweight contenders Rafael dos Anjos and Leon Edwards, with a heavyweight duel between Juan Adams and Greg Hardy and another between Alexey Oleynik and Walt Harris also scheduled for the main card.
