One-time Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s bantamweight title challenger Alexis Davis will not compete again until late 2016, but for good reason.

“Big news to announce today a slight delay in my return to the octagon,” said Davis. “I planned on spending as much time back home as possible to help with my niece anyways. But we are over joyed by this news and should be expecting our new arrival early 2016!”
Davis (17-6) is 4-1 in the UFC, with wins against Sarah Kaufman, Jessica Eye, Liz Carmouche and Rosi Sexton. Her lone loss with the promotion came against women’s kingpin Ronda Rousey at UFC 175 in July 2014.
Davis is currently Sherdog.com's fourth-ranked women's bantamweight, but due to staff protocol will be removed at some point due to inactivity since it's unlikely she will have a fight scheduled within 12 months of her last bout, which took place April 25.
