Ahmed Abdirzak didn’t expect his encounter with Conor McGregor to go the way that it did.

“He came to shake my hand, and as soon as he came to shake my hand, he pulled me in and grabbed my phone and started smashing it,” Abdirzak told TMZ Sports. “All these security guards literally surrounded me and pushed me out of the way. And he’s stomping on it.
“He was a lot rude. He was like, ‘Get the [f—k] out of my face.
Move.’ And I was like, ‘Yo, sir can I have my phone back?’ And
[security guards said], ‘Move, man. Conor said what Conor
said.’”
From there, Abdirzak said McGregor put the phone in his pocket and left the hotel in his vehicle. Abdirzak claims that the phone is worth $1,000 but there is more significant content of sentimental value on the device.
“I’ve got pictures of my son I’ll probably never get again,” he said.
Shortly after the incident, McGregor was arrested and charged with strong-armed robbery and criminal mischief. He was released on $12,500 bond on Monday night. McGregor is due back in court for an arraignment on April 10.
“Patience in this world is a virtue I continue to work on,” McGregor wrote in a statement on Instagram. “I love my fans dearly. Thank you all.”
