Arlene Blencowe to Face Leslie Smith at Bellator 233 in Oklahoma

A pivotal women’s featherweight clash has been added to the Bellator 233 lineup, as Arlene Blencowe will square off against Leslie Smith in Thackerville, Okla., on Nov. 8.

Sherdog.com confirmed the booking with a promotion official on Monday following an initial report from MMAFighting.com. Bellator 233 takes place at WinStar World Casino and features a middleweight tilt pitting John Satler against Costello van Steenis.

The 36-year-old Blencowe has won five of her last six professional appearances, with her lone defeat during that time coming via split decision against current champion Julia Budd at Bellator 189. “Angerfist” has won two in a row since that defeat, scoring technical knockout victories over Amber Leibrock and Amanda Bell.

A seven-time UFC veteran, Smith enters the matchup with Blencowe on a three-bout winning streak. “The Peacemaker” was victorious in her promotional debut, as she garnered a majority verdict against Sinead Kavanagh at Bellator 224 on July 12.
