CM Punk Remains Underdog in Betting Odds for UFC 203 Debut Against Mickey Gall

CM Punk figures to be a major draw for the Ultimate Fighting Championship when he makes his MMA debut in September. However, from the looks of things, oddsmakers aren’t expecting the former pro-wrestling star to be victorious in his first fight.

CM Punk -- whose real name is Phil Brooks -- opened as a sizable betting underdog when his bout with Mickey Gall was first announced in February. Six months later, following the postponement of the bout and CM Punk undergoing back surgery, it seems nothing has changed.

According to BestFightOdds.com, as of Monday, all major online sportsbooks are offering CM Punk as an underdog of +212 or greater, with some as high as +250. Gall, meanwhile, is floating as a -300 favorite, meaning Gall backers would have to put down $300 to win $100.

Originally targeted for UFC 199, the welterweight matchup will now be part of UFC 203, which takes place Sept. 10 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
