Clay Guida vs. Jim Miller Targeted for UFC on ESPN Card in Newark on Aug. 3
A matchup between two lightweight veterans is in the works for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Aug. 3 trip to Newark, N.J.

Guida, 37, has won three of his last four Octagon appearances. Most recently, “The Carpenter” took a unanimous verdict over B.J. Penn at UFC 237 on May 11. Guida’s 35-18 career mark also includes wins over the likes of Joe Lauzon, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Anthony Pettis, Takanori Gomi, Rafael dos Anjos, Nate Diaz and Josh Thomson, to name a few.
The 35-year-old Miller has rebounded from a recent four-bout skid to win two of his last three UFC outings. The New Jersey native last competed at UFC Fight Night 150, where he submitted Jason Gonzalez with a rear-naked choke in the opening stanza. Miller is 30-13 with one no contest as a pro and owns notable victories against Thiago Alves, Lauzon, Gomi, Yancy Medeiros, Melvin Guillard, Charles Oliveira and Gleison Tibau, among others.
