The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s return to Atlantic City has a main event, as Donald Cerrone will square off with Jim Miller in a lightweight showdown.
Promotion officials announced the pairing late Thursday night. The UFC Fight Night card takes place at Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J., on July 16. The UFC last ventured to Atlantic City for UFC on FX 4 in June 2012, when Gray Maynard scored a split verdict over Clay Guida in the evening’s headliner.
Cerrone, who has expressed a desire to fight six times in 2014, is 2-0 so far this year. He kicked off his campaign with a first-round knockout of Adriano Martins in at UFC on Fox 10 in January before submitting Edson Barboza with a rear-naked choke in the opening frame of their UFC on Fox 11 clash on April 19.
Miller, meanwhile, has won three of his last four outings . The AMA Fight Club product has earned triumphs over Joe Lauzon, Fabricio Camoes and Yancy Medeiros, with a no contest against Pat Healy at UFC 159 the only blemish on his record during that time.
