Middleweights Kevin Casey, Elvis Mutapcic to Meet at UFC 199 in Los Angeles
A middleweight clash between Kevin Casey and Elvis Mutapcic has been added to the UFC 199 lineup.
The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed the matchup on Wednesday. UFC 199 takes place at the Forum in Los Angeles on June 4 and is headlined by a middleweight title rematch between Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman. In the co-main event, Dominick Cruz defends his bantamweight strap against Urijah Faber for a second time.
Casey, 34, is coming off a third-round technical knockout loss to Rafael Natal at UFC on Fox 18 in his last outing. “King” has won just once in five Octagon appearances, with two of his bouts resulting in no contests. His lone victory came against Ildemar Alcantara at UFC Fight Night “Mir vs. Duffee” last July.
A former Maximum Fighting Championship titlist, Mutapcic made his promotional debut on short notice, falling to Francimar Barroso via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night in Boston on Jan. 17. The 29-year-old is 15-4 in his professional career.
