RFA 28 Weigh-in Results: Sanchez, Poppie Cleared for Main Event Battle
Resurrection Fighting Alliance middleweight prospects Andrew
Sanchez and John Poppie
will headline RFA
28 in Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis Friday night and now they
can get some food. Both fighters made the 185-pound limit at
Thursday’s weigh-ins, making their featured attraction
official.
Poppie, who has won four straight bouts coming into the battle, tipped the scale at 184.3 pounds. Not to be outdone, Sanchez walked up the scale and nailed it at 184.6 pounds. After a rather fierce staredown, the two combatants exited the weigh-in station, gearing up for one last day of prep before they lock horns.
Former RFA flyweight titlist Matt Manzanares, a late replacement for Geane Herrera who was called up to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, weighed in at 125.7 pounds. His opponent, Ken Porter, was equally professional and clocked in at exactly 125.
