Finally, Marc Goddard will officiate the interim featherweight title showdown between Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar, with Tony Weeks, Marcos Rosales and Junichiro Kamijo handling the scorecards. When Aldo was still the long-reigning featherweight king, he took a unanimous verdict over Edgar at UFC 156.

Two other title bouts are set to take place that same week. On July 7, Rafael dos Anjos will defend the lightweight crown against Eddie Alvarez at UFC Fight Night at MGM Grand Garden Arena in a card that will stream in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass. Dean will serve as the referee for the 155-pound contest, while Derek Clark, D’Amato and Kamijo will be the judges.
Also, Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend the UFC strawweight belt against Claudia Gadelha in “The Ultimate Fighter 23” finale headliner on July 8 at MGM Grand Garden Arena. McCarthy will be the third person in the cage, while Jeff Mullen, Rosales and Dave Hagen will score the fight. Jedrzejczyk defeated Gadelha via split decision in their first meeting at UFC on Fox 13; their rematch will air on Fox Sports 1.
