Sam Alvey Confident Everywhere Against Klidson Abreu
Sam Alvey knows he must win this one.
The fan favorite is on a two-fight losing streak, and is now set to take on Klidson Abreu on Saturday at UFC San Antonio. While the Brazilian is coming off of his unsuccessful Ultimate Fighting Championship debut, "Smile'n" knows not to underestimate his opponent.

"He has a very good ground game, and I have to be twice as careful falling into the traps. But, I'll be fine anywhere. I do jiu-jitsu with some of the best ground guys in the world like Rafael Lovato Jr., Dan Henderson and others," Alvey (33-12, 1 NC) said to Sherdog.com. "People like to see knockouts so I want to give them that, but if it goes to the mat, I'll be fine."
Although he says he has to be careful of his ground game, he is not opposed to it going down there. He says he has been working hard on his jiu-jitsu for this camp and defending submissions. So, he and his team are extremely confident they get back into the win column here.
"It could go anywhere. My team knows how good I am standing, and how good I am on the ground," he explained. "No matter what, we all see me getting my hand raised at the end."
Not only do they expect to get back into the win column, but Alvey said it is crucial. He has lost two in a row and knows he cannot make that three.
