UFC 150 Medical Suspensions: Benson Henderson Out Indefinitely Pending Doctor’s Clearance
UFC lightweight champion Ben Henderson received an indefinite medical suspension following his victory at UFC 150. Sherdog.com confirmed the news with the Colorado Office of Boxing on Thursday. Henderson must receive clearance from a physician before he defends his title against Nate Diaz on Dec. 8.
The champion earned a split-decision victory over ex-titlist Frankie Edgar on Saturday night in the UFC 150 headliner. The event took place at the Pepsi Center in Denver and also saw Donald Cerrone knock out former teammate Melvin Guillard in the co-main event. Guillard was handed a 60-day suspension as a result.

Henderson and Edgar first met at UFC 144 this past February, with “Smooth” wresting the title from Edgar in a hard-fought unanimous decision. Though that bout proved competitive enough for some to score the fight in favor of “The Answer,” the most recent clash of lightweights proved to be even more polarizing. Regardless, Henderson now moves on to his next challenge: facing Diaz in the UFC on Fox 5 main event.
