Jan 29, 2013 Comments
(PRESS RELEASE) -- UFC vet Jared
Papazian (14-9-0, 1NC) returns home for his next fight
figuratively and literally. Papazian recorded a unanimous decision
win at Badbeat 1 and he resides in the greater Los Angeles area.
Although he had some setbacks recently, Papazian looks forward to
restarting his climb to the top while showcasing his talents in
front of his hometown supporters as the Main Event for Badbeat
8.
“The reason I chose Badbeat MMA for my return is because Brett (Roberts) has always taken care of me,” Papazian stated, “it feels like home”. When asked about performing in an event close to home, Papazian said “I’m so excited to be fighting so close to home. All my friends and family get to see me put on another ‘fight of the night’”. At the time of this press release an opponent for Papazian had yet to be named.
“It just goes to show the depth of (MMA) talent in this area that a
fighter of this caliber is excited to fight for Badbeat MMA”,
according to BAMMA USA CEO Brett
Roberts. “Our brand will continue to grow because fighters like
Jared are willing to work with us.”
Fighter Notes: Papazian has been a professional MMA fighter since 2008. He has held the King of the Cage 135 pound title. ‘The Jackhammer’ holds a BJJ Blue Belt under Alberto Crane. Five of his victories have come via KO with an additional win coming by way of submission.
BAMMA USA Emphasizes “Badbeat MMA” Brand Starting in 2013 The leading MMA promotion in southern California will emphasize the name of its professional fight organization “Badbeat MMA” in all upcoming events starting with “Badbeat 8” which takes place on March 15, 2013 at the world famous Commerce Casino (Commerce, California). Previously, “Badbeat” events were promoted as “BAMMA USA’s Badbeat”. According to BAMMA USA CEO Brett Roberts, “we are not changing names, we are just going to put more emphasis on the ‘Badbeat’ brand. ‘Badbeat’ has focused solely on showcasing top level professional MMA fights and beginning with ‘Badbeat 8’ we look to continue that tradition.”
Just as with any multi-platform entertainment company, BAMMA USA will serve as the parent company for both its professional MMA promotion organization (Badbeat MMA) and its amateur MMA promotion organization (ALFA League). The company has already transitioned its website to www.BadbeatMMA.com and it plans to convert its social media outlets to represent the Badbeat MMA brand.
