WESTER STEPS IN ON SHORT NOTICE TO TAKE ON JUSTIN HARTLEY IN THE MAIN EVENT ON SATURDAY NIGHT
Feb 19, 2015 Comments
(PRESS RELEASE) -- On Saturday night, Jonathan
Wester (4-2, Gravitas MMA) steps in on short notice to take on
Justin
Hartley in the main event at Marathon Music Works in Nashville,
TN.
The last time the Legion witnessed Wester was back in August when he took on Ben Brewer in the main event. Wester came up short in that one and wants nothing more to prove to the Legion what he is capable of doing.
“I decided to take this fight because it made sense for where I’m
at right now. I got back into training in December after a couple
of injuries and have really hit my stride here recently. I’ve been
training a lot smarter, really focusing on filling the holes in my
game” states Wester.
One thing in particular that Wester has been working on is his wrestling. He has been spending a lot of time in the Central Baptist College wrestling room and working with the college team. Wester states, “Coach Ken and all the guys there have really been awesome in helping me grow in my wrestling and even sacrificing training time in order to teach me. I owe a big thanks to them.”
“I feel great going into this fight. My cardio is up, I’ve been working hard, and I have the greatest team in the world supporting me and coming in and sacrificing themselves to ensure that I get a win. As in most of my fights I play to my strengths, which is no secret, my striking has always been my strongest area. However, I feel a lot of people assume because they know my striking is my greatest asset that my ground game will be weak, which is not the case. I’m a purple belt in BJJ and am still very dangerous and crafty on the ground despite getting submitted the last time I fought for v3.”
Wester is in for another tough challenge on Saturday night, but has put in the work to ensure that the outcome is different this time. Get your tickets now and witness a main event that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Standing in Wester’s way will be a very dangerous and crafty
fighter in Justin
Hartley. Hartley is a former champion and newly signee with the
V3 promotion. Wester knows that the best chance to win any fight is
on his feet, however he feels confident anywhere the fight goes. He
weighed in on his fight and opponent and here is what he had to
say:
