Video: UFC Mexico Ceremonial Weigh-ins
UFC Fight Night 237 marks the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s sixth visit to Mexico City, headlined by a pair of highly-anticipated rematches as the main draw.
The main event pits former two-time champ Brandon Moreno in a rematch against perennial contender Brandon Royval. Their previous encounter in November 2020 culminated with Moreno emerging victorious courtesy of a first-round technical knockout. Following that, Moreno went on to fight Deiveson Figueiredo four times, winning, losing, and unifying the flyweight title in the process. He eventually dropped the belt to Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 290 via split decision. Meanwhile, Royval is also coming off a unanimous decision loss to Pantoja at UFC 296.
In the co-main event, featherweight mainstays Yair Rodriguez and Brian Ortega are poised to reignite a competitive atmosphere 19 months after their first clash ended abruptly when Ortega dislocated his shoulder during a scramble. With Rodriguez coming off an unsuccessful championship bid and Ortega looking to bounce back from recent setbacks, this bout assures a high-energy, action-packed affair.
