Coach Speak: Why Colby Covington Will KO Leon Edwards at UFC 296

Team MMA Masters coaches Cesar Carneiro and Daniel Valverde talked exclusively with Sherdog’s Marcelo Alonso about Colby Covington’s training camp to face Leon Edwards for the Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight crown at UFC 296.

According to the Brazilians, Covington will not commit the same mistake as Kamaru Usman and will surprise the champion.

“I expect a TKO before the 4th round,” said Carneiro.

The coaches also talked about a new concept they are working on with Covington called “Extreme Dirty Boxing.”

“Florida Athletic Commission already approved the rules. We will bring boxing with elbows. We are planning the first edition in March here in Florida,” revealed Valverde.
