Jason Witt Doesn’t Care About Josh Quinlan’s PED History: ‘I'm Gonna Beat Him Anyways’

Jason Witt is aware that his upcoming opponent recently popped for performance-enhancing drugs, but isn't concerned. Witt (19-8, 2-3 UFC) will face Ultimate Fighting Championship newcomer Josh Quinlan this Saturday on the preliminary card of UFC on ESPN 40. “The Vanilla Gorilla” lost his latest clash when he was stopped by Philip Rowe at UFC Fight Night 200 and is eager to bounce back. Ahead of his next assignment, Witt expressed his thoughts on the situation involving Quinlan, who tested positive for drostanolone, a banned performance enhancer, following his victory over Logan Urban in Week 2 of Dana White's Contender Series 2021. As a result, Quinlan’s victory was overturned to a no contest by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

“I got no problem with it. F**k him. If he wants to do steroids, let him do steroids. I’ll whoop his ass on steroids, and what's he gonna say? If you need performance-enhancing drugs to fight, then I think you're a coward, to begin with. If that's what you gotta do, that's what you gotta, that's fine. I don't think now he's in the UFC, I think USADA is probably gonna crack down quite a bit on him. I don't think he's gonna be able to do whatever he wants to do. So I think that will play a factor in his training and his recovery and all that stuff. I mean, they’re known as performance-enhancing drugs for a reason. I don't think it's gonna play much of a factor now. And if he's on steroids, I don't give a s**t. I'm gonna beat him anyways.”
