PBC on NBCSN Books Danny O’Connor & Gabriel Bracero as Headliner for Oct. 10
When Danny O’Connor first met Gabriel Bracero back in 2011, it was
at junior welterweight and O’Connor came up short. Since then, the
Massachusetts fighter has moved up a weight class and won 12 of 13.
Now he gets to try and avenge the first loss of his career.
O’Connor (26-2, 10 KOs) is looking to build upon his three-fight winning streak on his way to a possible title shot. He’s set to lock horns with his old rival in what will be the main event of Premier Boxing Champions’ next installment of PBC on NBCSN on Oct. 10. The fight will be held inside the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Ma.
"I'm excited to be fighting at a building with great boxing history
such as the Lowell Memorial Auditorium," said O'Connor. "I won the
Golden Gloves there and I can't wait to fight there again. I'm also
excited to avenge my first loss against Gabriel Bracero. I'm so
ready for this!"
Bracero (23-2, 4 KOs) is looking to bounce back from a loss to Felix Diaz back in April. The Brooklynite had won five in row going into that fight and he feels as though it’s do or die right now for his career.
"This is a huge fight for me and my career," said Bracero. "I only have one thought in my mind and that's victory. Danny is a tough opponent and on a winning streak right now. The best 'Tito' Bracero will be there October 10. I beat Danny before and I plan to do so again, in his backyard, even more convincingly. My best days are still ahead of me and you will see that come October 10."
Also slated to appear on the card will be unbeaten junior lightweight knockout artist Jonathan Guzman (19-0, 19 KOs) squaring off against Danny Aquino (17-2m 10 KOs) in a 10-rounder.
A featherweight skirmish between Ryan Kielczweski (23-1, 7 KOs) and Rafael Vasquez (16-1, 13 KOs) was announced on Friday as well.
The televised portion of the card will air live on NBCSN starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
