Du Plessis enters the cage on the strength of a nine-fight winning streak. The 30-year-old Welkom, South Africa, native last appeared at UFC 297, where he laid claim to the middleweight crown with a five-round unanimous decision over Sean Strickland on Jan. 20. Du Plessis has secured 19 of his 21 career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission. Adesanya, meanwhile, has won four of his past six bouts. A two-time champion at 185 pounds, the City Kickboxing superstar has not fought since he surrendered the middleweight title to Strickland in a five-round unanimous decision at UFC 293 on Sept. 9. Adesanya, 35, has never suffered back-to-back defeats as a pro.
