The UFC Fight Night bill in Dublin on Oct. 24 is starting to take shape, as the Las Vegas-based promotion recently announced two new matchups for the card.
Cathal Pendred will face Tom Breese in a welterweight scrap, while Krzysztof Jotko will lock horns with Scott Askham at middleweight. The event takes place at The 3Arena and is headlined by a lightweight showdown between Joseph Duffy and Dustin Poirier.
Pendred, who began his promotional tenure with four straight victories, suffered his first Octagon setback at UFC 189, dropping a split verdict to John Howard on July 11. The former Cage Warriors Fighting Championship titlist is 17-3-1 as a professional, with 10 of his triumphs going the distance.
Also a CWFC veteran, Breese scored a first-round technical knockout victory over Luiz Jorge Dutra Jr. in his first Octagon foray on May 30. The Englishman owns an 8-0 career mark; all of his victories have came by way of knockout, technical knockout or submission.
Jotko rebounded from his first pro defeat last October, as he outpointed Tor Troeng at UFC Fight Night “Nelson vs. Story.” Askham, meanwhile, is 1-1 in the UFC, including a first-round KO victory over Antonio Dos Santos Jr. in his most recent outing.
