Patrick Mix: The Unquestioned Contender

After two wins in Bellator MMA and a successful year-end appearance under the Rizin Fighting Federation banner, the undefeated Patrick Mix has the look of a fighter on the cusp of a shot at the vacant Bellator bantamweight title. Mix deems himself worthy of the opportunity.
“If I win my next fight … let’s say I fight for the vacant title, I win that [and then] I’m 14-0 with 11 finishes,” Mix told Sherdog.com. “I mean, [Darrion] Caldwell won it faster than that [and Douglas] Lima. Look at [Rafael] Lovato. I had 11 amateur fights that were the highest [quality]. I had to travel all around to get those fights because MMA wasn’t legal in New York. I fought the hardest amateurs [and they] could be pro-level fights, too, and then I went 13-0 as a pro with 10 finishes. I should’ve finished every fight I’ve ever been in. I’m right where I belong and deserve to be, and it’s because of my track record, the guys I’ve beaten and how I’ve beaten them.”
In this exclusive interview with Sherdog, Mix discussed the idea of meeting Juan Archuleta in a hypothetical bantamweight title bout and their past training together, touched on signing a new contract with Bellator and revealed how he keeps busy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
